La documentación hispánica, los retratos y algunas joyas conservadas muestran cómo, desde finales del Barroco y durante todo el siglo ilustrado, la moda de portar joyas florales floreció como máxima expresión del lujo y refinamiento rococó y del gusto por aderezar coquetamente la indumentaria de las damas europeas. La diversificación en la nomenclatura y la proliferación de los diseños reflejan que fue una moda consolidada por la hegemonía del robe à la française con la dinastía borbónica y llegó hasta Europa Oriental, haciéndose especialmente visible en España desde la llegada de Felipe V. No obstante, las joyas como aderezos florales pervivieron de la mano del naturalismo y la moda romántica y siguen presentes en los diseños de la actualidad.

Hispanic documentation, portraits and some preserved jewels show how, since the end of the Baroque and throughout the illustrated century, the fashion of wearing floral jewels flourished as the ultimate expression of Rococo luxury and refinement and the taste for coquettishly dressing the clothing of European ladies. The diversification in the nomenclature and the proliferation of the designs reflect that it was a fashion consolidated by the hegemony of the robe à la française with the Bourbon dynasty and came to Eastern Europe, becoming especially remarkable in Spain since the arrival of Felipe V. However, the jewels like floral dressings survived by the hand of naturalism and romantic fashion and are still present in today’s designs.
