Resumen de Experiencias de artistas con discapacidad frente a la promoción de la inclusión social

  Las artes plásticas y otras manifestaciones artísticas son utilizadas tradicionalmente como métodos de expresión creativa en la rehabilitación de personas con discapacidad, aunque dicha expresión debería significar emancipación, autonomía y derecho a la participación cultural. El objetivo fue contrastar las experiencias educativas y creativas de artistas con discapacidad frente a la promoción de la inclusión social en los ámbitos académico, laboral y cultural. Método: Bajo un abordaje cualitativo se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas y grupos focales con artistas aficionados y profesionales e instituciones y organizaciones con programas de formación en artes plásticas y danza. Resultados: Los participantes otorgan un significado importante al ser artistas; determinando su desarrollo creativo y productivo. Se destaca su elevada creatividad, aunque el contexto social/familiar, limita dicho reconocimiento. El enfoque de formación varía y se adapta metodológicamente a las personas. Las dificultades en la proyección y circulación de la obra de artistas profesionales con discapacidad son mayores a las de otros artistas. Se concluye que la inclusión en el medio artístico se reconfigura al considerar las personas con discapacidad como protagonistas de la vida cultural. El ejercicio artístico demanda gran originalidad, motivando a las personas a convertirse en sujetos activos que se comunican mediante un lenguaje universal.

  Plastic arts and other artistic manifestations are traditionally used as method of creative expression in the rehabilitation of people with disabilities. Although, this expression should mean emancipation, autonomy and the right to cultural participation. The objective was to contrast between educational and creative experiences of disable artists in the area of social inclusion for academic, work and cultural spaces. Method: using a qualitative method, semi structured interviews and focal groups were used with amateur artists and staff members from plastic arts and dance institutions and organizations as well as professional artists. Results: The participants believe that being an artist is an important part of their creative and productive grown. It stands out the high creativity of the artists; however, social/family context limits this acknowledgement. The projection and circulation of the work of professional artists is more difficult that other artists. As conclusion, the inclusion of people with disabilities in the artistic media, is reshaped when they are considered as protagonist of cultural life. The artistic practice demands great originality, which motivates people with disabilities to change into active participants whom communicate through a universal language.
