  • A thorough discussion of this topic could fill volumes and years of study, but we can certainly take a brief yet detailed look at color theory and the practical implications for the cinematographer. To begin, we must discuss the nature of color vision - how human beings see color. As Isaac Newton pointed out with his experiments in the 1600s, natural daylight is the combination of all of the colors of the rainbow: red orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.
