The complete method for the implementation of microcomputer control of swiching converters is presented. For the development of the control strategy, a state space focusing is preferred versus classical methods. For this reason, the determination of the controller and the observer is required. The features and restrictions of discrete control of a real time system like a swiching converter are revised and analysed. Fynally, the control algorithm is presented and the main aspects of the implementation are discussed.
The conclusions are related to the difficulties of the implementation of microcomputer control of switching converters. The inherent high value of the cutoff fequency of the systems forces, because of the sampling theorem, to work with short sampling periods. Several options to cope with these requirements are proposed.
