  • A general framework of an expert system has been developed to explore potentials for internal transfer of technology between the projects and the current R and D portfolio. Large repository of information contained in the knowledge base and an inference engine, which consists of the fuzzy production rules are used to reason about overall similarity between considered projects. Backward chaining is employed to advise user on the possibilities of out,of-portfolio and into-portfolio transfer of technology, thus estimating possible cost reduction due to the multiple use of the same resources.
