Resumen de MODIC: a PC based layout system

• The development in VLSI tecnology, during the past few years, have increased the need for teaching of VLSI desing methods. However the eductional institutions have been hindered by the high cost of professional workstation. In this paper we present a VLSI layout system intended to run on IBM PC XT/AT microcomputers. The systems includes features such as:

  -Intereactive Layout Capture -Interactive desing Rules Checking -Interactive Electrical Graph extraction -Technology independence The software is written in the C languaje, and does not need a dedicated workstation.
