  • Resumen
    • Branching and multitasking both involve a transfer of control- branching, whithin a process, and multitasking, between a processes. Both have a strong bering , albeit in opposing directions, on the utilization efficiency of systems resources. A unified approach to task-switching is presented that:

eliminates branching cost and improves resource utilization, emphatiszes the localities and logical coherence of task in defining self-scheduling task, naturally incorporates efficient time-sharing, and increases architectural modularity and desing homogeniety.

The proposed idea uses, whit minor modifications, the same context-switch hardwaree used for multi-tasking.
