The huge amount of data involved in real-time image processing necessitates the use of multiprocessor systems. The time requires to load pictures(data) into a multiprocessor systemis therefore very important in real-time image processing applications, especially in low-level processing. Conventionally, a picture is first loaded into the system followed by processing of the picture. Concurrent loading and processing of data in a multiprocessor sytem significantly increases trhoughput of the system. Advantages of this technique over conventional method is discussed in detail.
