    Circunscribiéndose al ámbito jurisdiccional de la Corona de Castilla, durante el reinado de los Reyes Católicos, el presente artículo estudia las diversas fuentes de ingresos de los jueces y las vías a través de las cuales ellos los procuraban y los defendían. Se hace un especial énfasis en las penas pecuniarias y, dentro de ellas, a las aplicadas a la Cámara Real, sus asignaciones, destinos y usos por parte de los magistrados. El interés principal es el de mostrar cómo la manera de gestionar los beneficios del cargo de corregidor podía incidir en la administración de la justicia, llegando a provocar graves daños a justiciables y pleiteantes. Con el fin de ejemplificar, se analiza la trayectoria del bachiller Diego Arias de Anaya.

    Circumscribing to the jurisdictional scope of the Crown of Castile, during the reign of the Catholic Monarchs, this article studies the various sources of income of the judges and the ways through which they sought and defended them. Special emphasis is placed on financial penalties and, within them, on those applied to the Royal Chamber, its assignments, destinations and uses by magistrates. The main interest is to show how the way to manage the benefits of the position of corregidor could influence the administration of justice, causing serious damages to justiciables and litigants. In order to exemplify, the career of bachelor Diego Arias de Anaya is analyzed.
