  • Resumen
    • Schilling interviews Gerard't Hooft, Nobel-winning theoretical physicist, about why he became an ambassador for the Dutch Mars One project and whether he fancies a move to Mars. Hooft states that the concept fits in with his own ideas about human exploration of space, which he described in his book, Playing with Planets. In fact, the co-founder and general director of Mars One, Bas Lansdorp, once attended one of his lectures. When Lansdorp asked him to become an ambassador for Mars One, his first reaction was that it will take much longer and cost much more than they currently envision. However, after learning more about the research they had carried out he became convinced that human flights to Mars could become a reality within 10 years. So in the end, he said yes.
