    El siglo XV en la Corona de Aragón está marcado por una fuerte tensión interna motivada por problemas políticos que afectará a la nobleza e incrementará la presión fiscal sobre los campesinos. Después de un siglo XIV de crisis diversas - entre las que destacan las carestías y epidemias - empezará una época de florecimiento comercial y de expansión militar en el XV. Esto para el campo catalán no significará una mejora general de la situación, sino que la guerra y la ausencia del monarca dará la oportunidad a los nobles de imponer más servidumbres. No obstante, hubo familias rurales que consiguieron aumentar su patrimonio e influencia durante el siglo XIV y que iniciarán el XV en una situación de poder, permitiéndoles continuar con la tendencia iniciada el siglo anterior. Un ejemplo es la familia Coromina cuya amplia documentación conservada en el archivo Fontcuberta nos ha permitido reconstruir su situación patrimonial y las estrategias que puso en práctica para acrecentarlo.

    The XVth century at Aragon Crown was marked by the political problems and the rise of the internal stress. This elements cause political tensions which affects not only to the nobility, but the peasants as well because of the important rise of the taxes. After the XIVth century and it’s crisis - standing out the famine and the spread - started a epoch with and important development of the trade and the military expansion. For the catalan land this does not mean an improvement of the general situation, but mean a rise of the serving staff. However there were rural families, which improve their patrimony and influence during the XIVth century, and at the XVth they had a powerful situation which allowed to continue the rising tendency. One example is the Coromina’s family.The large amount of documentation preserved at the Fontcuberta’s archive allows us to rebuild their situation and strategies used to strengthen their power
