    Alfonso Marini ha dedicado al estudio de Celestino V más de 15 obras, publicadas en el arco de treinta años. El autor presenta un notable aporte historiográfico, subrayando la originalidad de la aproximación metodológica de Marini; éste, de hecho, no obstante revindique su herencia manselliana, nunca se ha limitado a interpretaciones e hipótesis historiográficas, por brillantes que fueren, que no estuvieran respaldadadas por una seria catalogación de las fuentes. En la presente obra se pone en evidencia la agudeza historiográfica patente ante todo en los estudios celestinos.

    Alfonso Marini has dedicated to the study of Celestine V more than 15 of his writings, published over a period of thirty years. The Author presents this abundant historiographical contribution, and underlines the originality of Marini's methodological approach. Marini, in fact, while proud of his Mansellian heritage, has never slavishly followed historiographical interpretations and hypotheses, however brilliant, which are not supported by serious documentation from the sources. this artivle highlights the historiographical acuity that is a mark most particularly of Marini'x studies regarding Celestine V.
