Resumen de Impactos del turismo: Miradas críticas desde la población residente en el centro histórico de La Habana (Cuba)

  El turismo urbano actualmente mantiene una constante de crecimiento. El principal destino urbano de Cuba es la ciudad de La Habana debido al atractivo que ejerce su Centro Histórico. Es un espacio donde conviven una variedad de funciones. El Plan Maestro de la Oficina del Historiador de la Ciudad se encarga de la ordenación territorial y urbana y del desarrollo integral del Centro Histórico mediante el Plan Especial de Desarrollo Integral (PEDI) que distingue la orientación turística del territorio y concibe al turismo como una actividad económica con capacidad para generar múltiples beneficios. Sin embargo, el desarrollo de este sector debe ser limitado para su buen funcionamiento. Todo destino turístico presenta una capacidad de carga social más allá del cual los niveles de desarrollo turístico resultan inaceptables y la presencia de turistas puede llegar a ser intolerable para la población local. Esta investigación ha considerado la percepción de los impactos generados por el turismo en los residentes del Centro Histórico de La Habana mediante encuestas a los habitantes del Consejo popular Catedral. Los resultados extraídos pueden servir para la toma de decisiones, en tanto que reflejan los impactos asociados a la inserción del turismo en el panorama socioeconómico de los actores locales

  Urban tourism currently maintains a constant growth. The main urban destination of Cuba is the city of Havana due to the attractiveness of its Historical Center. It is a space where a variety of functions coexist. The Master Plan of the Office of the City Historian is responsible for territorial and urban planning and the integral development of the Historic Center through the Special Integral Development Plan (SIDP) that distinguishes the tourist orientation of the territory and conceives tourism as an economic activity capable to generate multiple benefits. However, the development of this sector must be limited for its proper functioning. Every tourist destination has a social carrying capacity from which levels of tourist development are unacceptable, so the presence of tourists can become intolerable to the local population. This research has considered the perception of the impacts generated by tourism in the residents of the Historic Center of Havana through surveys conducted on the inhabitants of the Cathedral Popular Council. The results extracted can be used for decision-making, as they reflect the impacts associated with the insertion of tourism in the socioeconomic panorama of local actors
