Luis García Berlanga es seguramente el director de cine más importante del cine español. Desarrolla su carrera principalmente en la época franquista y es autor de tres comedias corrosivas: Bienvenido Mister Marshall (1952), Plácido (1961) y El verdugo (1963), que desde un sentido del humor esperpéntico pueden ser utilizadas para estudiar la historia de España de la segunda mitad del siglo xix. En este artículo, analizaremos, a modo de ensayo, los tres filmes y lo que han significado a este respecto.

Luis Garcia Berlanga is probably the most important filmmaker of Spanish cinema. He developed his career mainly in the Franco era and is the author of three corrosive comedies: Bienvenido M r. Marshall (1952), Placido (1961) and El verdugo (1963), which, with its grotesque sense of hu mor, can be used to study the history of Spain during the second half of the twentieth century. Inthis article, we, as a trial, will analyze the three films and what they have meant in this regard.
