El diseño e implementación de estrategias didácticas como contribución al conocimiento de la avifauna en la laguna de Pedropalo(Tena, Cundinamarca) - Colombia

    La presente investigación tuvo un carácter cualitativo y descriptivo, y utilizó la metodología de la Investigación Acción a través de la cual se diseñaron y aplicaron diferentes actividades didácticas y lúdicas, con estudiantes de los grados tercero, cuarto y quinto de la Institución Educativa Departamental Betulia, sede Catalamonte, única en el área de influencia de la Reserva Laguna de Pedropalo (Tena-Cundinamarca). Con el ánimo de vincular a los estudiantes con el conocimiento y conserva-ción de las aves, se realizaron dilemas morales, mapas ambientales, también herramientas de reconocimiento e identificación de la avifauna como la conceptualización de términos ornitológicos, juegos, uso de guías de campo, jornadas de observación y la construcción de un plegable con las especies representativas. El desarrollo de estas iniciativas, puso de manifiesto las interrelaciones que establecen los estudiantes con elementos naturales y socioculturales de la cotidianidad, la forma en que estas relaciones afectan la percepción de ambiente y sus actitudes frente al mismo, excepto los dilemas morales, que no fueron eficaces para clarificar valores ni la apropiación de problemáticas ambientales. Además, permitió la familiarización con aspectos de la avifauna local para su reconocimiento y conservación.

    The present research was a qualitative and descriptive character and used Action Research methodology through which they were designed and implemented different recreational and didactic activities for elementary grade students in the Departmental Educational Institution Betulia, Catalamonte. This institution is the only one located at the influence area of Pedropalo’s Lagoon Reserve (Tena-Cundinamarca) included within the Important Areas for Birds Conservation System. The lagoon is known as a place of high biological potential. For these reasons, the investigation was developed with the aim of linking the students with birds’ knowledge and conservation through different teaching tools like moral dilemmas, environmental maps, recognition and identification strategies of birds such as conceptualization of ornithological terms, games, use of field guides, birdwatching activities and making a booklet with the most representative species of the area. The development of these activities showed the interrelationships that students make with natural and cultural elements of everyday life, the way these relationships affect their environmental awareness and their attitude toward the environment. Likewise, the research showed that the moral dilemmas were not effective in order to clarify values neither for allowing the appropriation of environmental issues, but on the other hand, it led to familiarization for the students whit the principal characteristics of the local birds.
