El artículo tiene un doble objetivo. Por un lado dar a conocer una documentación desconocida que se conserva en el Archivo Histórico Nacional y que consiste en más de seiscientos informes emitidos por los presidentes de las audiencias y chancillerías así como ciertos eclesiásticos sobre los ministros de justicia de los tribunales territoriales castellanos y los principales miembros de las facultades de derecho y colegiales mayores. Por otro, hacer una reflexión sobre las implicaciones que el hallazgo de esta fuente tiene a la hora de abordar las dinámicas de control que era capaz de ejercer el poder central, encarnado en la Cámara de Castilla, sobre la elite de la magistratura del reino.

This article has a double objective. First, it wants to show an unknown documentation that is kept in the National Historical Archive of Spain (AHN). The documentation has more than six hundred reports issued by the presidents of the Audiencias and Chancillerías (superior courts of justice) as well as certain ecclesiastics about the ministers of justice of the territorial courts of Castile and the main members of the faculties of law and senior college students. Second, the article reflects on the implications that the finding of this source has when dealing with the dynamics of control that the central power, embodied in the Cámara de Castilla, was capable of exercising over the elite of the magistracy of the kingdom.
