El presente estudio tiene como objetivo principal el análisis de las diferencias tácticas entre las acciones de contraataque en la Premier League inglesa y la Liga española de la temporada 2017-2018. El contraataque forma parte del momento de juego de transición defensa-ataque, definido por Casáis (2015) como la situación de juego en la cual el equipo defensor recupera la posesión de balón para tratar de aplicar los principios tácticos ofensivos y así́ progresar en el campo con la intención de conseguir marcar gol. Según Fernández-Navarro et al. (2016), el contraataque tiene unas características especiales: pases más largos, menor número de pases, secuencias de pases más cortas y menos toques. En cuanto a los estudios previos, destaca el de Oberstone (2011), el cual encontró́ algunos resultados significativos: la Premier League inglesa presentó menor porcentaje de tiros a portería que la Liga española. Así́ mismo la Liga presentó mayores número de éxito al convertir los tiros a portería en goles.

The aim of the present study is to analyze the tactical differences between the counterattack actions in the English Premier League and the Spanish League of the 2017-2018 season. The counterattack occurs in the moment of transition game defense-attack, defined by Casáis (2015) as the game situation in which the defending team regains possession of the ball to try to apply the offensive tactical principles and thus progress in the field with the intention of getting a goal. According to Fernández-Navarro et al. (2016), the counterattack has some special characteristics: longer passes, fewer passes, shorter sequences of passes and fewer touches. From the previous studies, it highlights that of Oberstone (2011), which found some significant results: the English Premier League had a lower percentage of shots on goal than the Spanish League. Likewise, the League presented greater number of success when converting the shots to goal in goal.
