  • A sim ple method for predicting runoff on a daily basis from ungauged small catchments in the province of Alicante has been developed. The method is based on the variable SCS curve-number approach. The method has been applied as a preliminary step to estimate the water balance in selected subcatchments to increase the aquifers recharge by means o f small damsand water detention basins. The data obtained fit the calculated runoff data of the catchments which subcathment belong to fairly well
