The hydrogeochemical study of groundwater at La Aldea aquifer (West Gran Canaria) hasallowed to characterize different groundwater families, depending on the exploited materials and/or the existence of some modifying phenomena. Cl-Mg and Na-Mg waters are related with basalts exploitation; Cl-Na high saline waters come from Las Tabladas clift, and are suffering amixing with the alluvial groundwater. The mixing waters are Cl-Na-Ca, and can evolve to Cl-S 0 4-Na and S 0 4-Cl-Na when irrigation returns are present.
