  • The different geochemical evolution of thermal solutions in three geothermal systems of the Central Pyrenees (Caldas de Boí, Tredós and Les), is expressed by variations in the total dissolved solids (TDS) and the equilibrium or disequilibrium between albite and water, calculated for reservoir conditions. The radiometric ages (14C) obtained for water samples have revealed that the residence time is not a key factor in order to explain the differences in the geochemical evolution of waters. These differences can be related to the kinetics of the dissolution process, affecting different minerals. A study of the influence of the dissolution rate on feldspars, shows that variations in the temperature of water in the reservoir can be responsible for the observed differences in the geochemical evolution of waters, even for waters with very similar residence times
