Resumen de Cambios en los usos de suelo en la Península Ibérica: Un meta-análisis para el período, 1985-2015

In recent decades, numerous authors have paid attention to land use changes in the Iberian Peninsula. While the limitations of existing data sources made most of these contributions take form of case studies, limited to relatively small areas within the peninsular context, the combination of their main results allows us to compose a fairly accurate picture of the major changes and the main forces of change. The main processes for the period 1985-2015 include agricultural intensification-extensification processes, farmland abandonment, large scale expansión of forest areas, and the emergency, in very specific locations but of considerable intensity, of urban development
