Madurez psicosocial y comportamiento delictivo en menores infractores

  El presente artículo repasa la literatura acerca de la delincuencia juvenil en los últimos años y explora el constructo de madurez psicosocial propuesto por Steinberg y Cauffman (1996), con la finalidad de analizar si existe una relación entre el nivel de madurez psicosocial de una muestra española de menores infractores (n= 212) y su comportamiento delictivo. Los resultados indican que existe una relación estadísticamente significativa entre el nivel de madurez y el comportamiento delictivo, siendo la variable Templanza la que obtiene un mayor tamaño del efecto (13%), seguida por Responsabilidad (11%) y por último, Perspectiva (7%).

  This paper reviews literature on juvenile delinquency in recent years and explores the construct of psychosocial maturity proposed by Steinberg and Cauffman (1996), with the main aim of analyzing whether there is a relationship between the level of maturity of a Spanish sample of juvenile offenders (n = 212) and criminal behavior. The results showed that there is a statistically significant relationship in the level of psychosocial maturity and delinquent behavior, with the time variable obtaining a greater effect size (13%), followed by Responsibility (11%) and finally, Perspective (7%).
