El intento suicida es un suceso que afecta abruptamente la vida familiar, especialmente a los padres; identificar el sentir y actuar de padres que se enfrentan a esta situación es atender el problema desde una perspectiva preventiva. Los padres presentan dos patrones de relación con sus hijos: uno suficiente y uno insuficiente, las madres presentan un perfil insuficiente y más complejo. Intervenir el suicidio desde su tentativa de manera integral, incluyendo a los padres, ayuda a obtener información más precisa de lo que sucede alrededor del fenómeno suicida, favorecer la expresión de afectos y conductas del intento suicida ayuda al hijo y a los padres; quienes ocasionalmente no saben cómo actuar.

A suicidal attempt is an event that abruptly affects the family life, especially the parents; to identify feelings and actions of parents who face this situation is to respond to the problem from a preventive perspective. The parents present two patterns of relationship with their children: one sufficient and one insufficient, the mothers present an insufficient and more complex profile. Intervening suicide since its attempt comprehensively, including parents, helps to obtain more accurate information about what happens around the suicidal phenomenon, favoring the expression of affections and behaviors of the suicidal attempt helps the child and the parents; who occasionally do not know how to act.
