La principal función de la fuente y el estanque ornamental es proporcionar belleza a través del equilibrio y la armonía de sus componentes, de su integración en el entorno y de su correcto funcionamiento, de modo que preste el nivel de servicio deseado. Conseguir estos objetivos implica identificar los factores que condicionan la calidad del proyecto y la obra resultante. En este artículo se identifican estos factores, aportando unas directrices y especificaciones que podrán ser de gran utilidad para que los proyectistas y constructores de fuentes y estanques ornamentales encuentren en cada caso la mejor solución.

The main function of the fountain and the ornamental pond is the relationship between the function of the source and the harmony between the components, the integration in the environment and the correct functioning, the way to obtain the desired level of service. Achieving these objectives implies identifying the factors that condition the quality of the project and the resulting work. This article identifies these factors, including guidelines and specifications, which are very useful for planners and builders of ornamental ponds and fountains.
