Ganglion impar participates in the innervation of the pelvic organs through sympathetic fibers and its blockade makes it a therapeutic target for the treatment of chronic pelvic pain, benign or oncological in both adults and children. It is a low complexity technique with a low complication rate. After its realization substantial pain relief is achieved with a reduction in analgesic requirements. If the diagnostic block is effective, a longer technique can be proposed like radiofrequency. We present a case of an 11-year-old girl with chronic benign pelvic pain of two years of evolution that did not respond to pharmacological treatment in which the ganglion impar block was used; we discuss the effectiveness and therapeutic alternatives.
