    Abanderado de la sociedad constructora que fundara en 1914, junto a un equipo de arquitectos y técnicos de diferentes especialidades, el ingeniero de minas Valentín Vallhonrat intervino en un número considerable de proyectos que constitu-yen el fiel reflejo del devenir político, económico y social de la España de la primera mitad del siglo XX. Considerando la importancia de su labor, y en vista del tímido interés que ha despertado su figura, este texto presenta un esforzado acercamiento a su retrato, que puede seguirse en dos niveles: el del actor y el de la escena.

    The mining engineer Valentín Vallhonrat was standard bearer of the con-struction company that he founded in 1914, together with a team of architects and technicians of different specialities. He intervened in a considerable number of pro-jects that constitute the true reflection of the political, economic and social future of Spain from the first half of the twentieth century. Considering the importance of his work and the timid interest that his figure has aroused, this text presents a detailed approach to his portrait, which is shown in two levels: the actor and the scene
