    El presente trabajo gira en torno al problema de las antigüedades mexicanas y su utilización por parte del criollismo novohispano, como referentes culturales del proceso de construcción de la identidad nacional llevado a cabo a finales del siglo XVIII. Además, se realiza un estudio comparativo, con respecto al mismo asunto, con las actividades desarrolladas por los miembros de la expedición española alrededor del mundo comandada por Alejandro Malaspina. Resaltando el hecho de que una misma temática es utilizada por ambos contextos: el novohispano y el metropolitano español; pero con planteamientos históricos opuestos, destinadas a rivalizar y diferenciarse.

    The present work turns around the problem of the Mexican antiques and its use on the part of the novo-hispanic criollism, like referring cultural of the process of construction of the carried out national identity at the end of century XVIII. In addition, a comparative study is made, with respect to the same subject, with the activities developed by the members of the Spanish expedition around the world commanded by Alejandro Malaspina. Emphasizing the fact that same a thematic one is used by both contexts: the novo-hispanic and the Spanish metropolitan; but with opposite historical expositions, destined to compete and to be different themselves.
