    La presente investigación se propone reflexionar acerca de la relevancia de hacer historiade la ciencia, analizando los hechos del pasado en sus propios términos, perocon el enriquecimiento que el presente le puede dar al historiador. En particular, seaborda la posibilidad de identificar la problemática que ocurre cuando el relato históricoextendidamente aceptado tergiversa, en algún punto, los hechos del pasado. Parailustrar esta problemática, se presenta el caso de la economía política clásica. En líneacon esto, la principal hipótesis del trabajo es que los sucesores de David Ricardo malinterpretaronsus desarrollos, lo cual produjo que su obra apareciera distorsionadaen la historia del pensamiento económico.

    The purpose of the present investigation is to think about the relevance of history ofscience, analyzing the facts of the past in its own terms but with the enrichment thatthe present can give to the historian. In particular, it explores the possibility of identifyingthe problem that occurs when the widely accepted historical story distorts, atsome point, the facts of the past. To illustrate this problem, the case of classical politicaleconomy is presented. According to this, the main hypothesis of this paper is thatthe successors of David Ricardo misinterpreted their developments. In consequence,his work appears distorted in the history of the economic thought.
