    La Ley 1/2019, de 30 de enero, de la Actividad Física y el Deporte de Canarias ha venido a sustituir a la Ley 8/1997, de 9 de julio, Canaria del Deporte. El presente trabajo tiene como objeto exponer los motivos que condujeron a elaborar un nuevo texto legal, así como el análisis de las novedades introducidas en el contenido de la nueva norma.

    The Law 1/2019, of 30 January, on the Physical Activity and Sport of the Canary Islands has replaced the Canarian Law 8/1997, of 9 July, of Sport. The purpose of this paper is to explain the reasons that led to the elaboration of a new legal text, as well as the analysis of the novelties introduced in the content of the new regulation.
