Resumen de Conflictos por el agua en Tepetitlán (Hidalgo, México), siglo XVIII

  En este artículo se plantea una aproximación a las luchas por el control y el acceso al agua entre las élites regionales hispanas y criollas y los pueblos de indios de la jurisdicción de Tula, durante el siglo XVIII. Una lucha que, en definitiva, hundía sus raíces en las nuevas perspectivas económicas regionales, provocadas por el descenso de la actividad ganadera. De esta manera, hacia el siglo XVIII la economía regional volteó la mirada hacia el cultivo de granos, sin dejar de lado la cría de ganado para las matanzas. Dentro de este contexto, las élites regionales, antiguas propietarias de grandes hatos de ganado, invirtieron importantes capitales en la construcción de una infraestructura hidráulica (zanjas, presas, jagüeyes), encaminada al riego de los cultivos. Sin embargo, eran los pueblos indios quienes desde antaño habían controlado una parte importante de los recursos hídricos disponibles, por lo cual la confrontación fue el resultado inevitable del proceso.

  In this article an approach it is considered to the fights by the control and access to the water between the Hispanic and Creole regional elites and the peoples of Indians of the jurisdiction of Tula, in 18th century. It was a fight that really sank its roots in the new regional economic perspective, caused by the reduction of the cattle activity. So that towards 18th century the regional economy turned around the glance towards the grain crops, without leaving of side the upbringing cattle for the slaughters. Within this context, the regional elites, old proprietors of great ranches of cattle, invested importantcapitals in the construction of a hydraulic infrastructure (ditches, prey, jagüeyes) directed to the irrigation of the crops. Nevertheless, they were the peoples of Indians who from long before had controlled an important part of the hydro resources available, reason why the confrontation was the inevitable result of the process.
