Although Giorgio Vasari does not fail to underline Jacopino del Conte's superior aptitude for drawing in the "Lives of the Artists" of 1568, the graphic oeuvre of this Florentine painter remains practically unknown. Only a handful of sheets have been attributed to him, and those included by specialists among his secure works are even fewer in number. With the publication of a very fine preparatory study, possibly by Jacopino, for a "Sacra conversazione", the present article seeks to revisit the scholarly debate regarding the artist as draughtsman and take stock of his scant oeuvre.
