Este texto recoge la experiencia de un ejerciciode investigacióniniciado en el año de 1987 que mantiene su vigencia hoy. La primera parte narra en estilo llano el proceso que condujo a la organización de la Unidad del Juego y el Juguete y se refiere a las tareas de investigación y docencia que desde ahí ha sido posible gestionar.
La segunda, esboza la relación de la Unidad con el actual proyecto curricular de Educación Infantil de la UPN (Universidad Pedagógica Nacional) y la tercera, cierra la narración abriendo una pequeña ventana al diseño y ejecución de un proyecto que serviría para sentar las bases del edificio que haría realidad el sueño de convertir la Unidad en el ambicioso proyecto de un exploratorium.
