  Este estudio presenta un análisis de convergencia económica en municipios turísticos de México durante el periodo 2000-2010, con datos de ingreso per cápita del programa de Naciones Unidas, publicado en 2011. El objetivo fue conocer el grado de interacción entre la vocación turística de estos municipios y el nivel de crecimiento económico de los mismos. Como hipótesis se sostiene que las características geográficas influyen en las disparidades interestatales a través del tiempo. Los resultados indican que existe una ventana de oportunidad para aprovechar las diferentes características de atractivo turístico en el país para que los municipios más pobres tiendan a crecer a tasas de producto per cápita mayores que los municipios más ricos.

  This study presents an economic convergence analysis performed in tourism municipalities of Mexico during the 2000-2010 period, with per capita income data by the United Nations program, published in 2011. The objective was to understand the degree of interaction between the tourism vocation of these municipalities and their level of economic growth. As hypothesis it is suggested that geographic characteristics influence the inter-state disparities through time. The results show that there is a window of opportunity to take advantage of the different characteristics of tourism appeal in the country for the poorest municipalities to tend to grow at higher per capita product rates than wealthier municipalities.
