Los “oficios” del niño guía. Niñez, imaginario y prácticas del patrimonio en México

    Pese a su fuerte presencia, los niños guía en México permanecen invisibles en la literatura sobre el patrimonio. El patrimonio sigue siendo un concepto pensado por adultos, a favor de las generaciones futuras, que no hace referencia a los niños. ¿En qué consiste lo patrimonial para ellos? ¿Cómo se apropian del patrimonio? ¿De qué manera lo experimentan y lo transmiten entre ellos y hacia los adultos? A partir de tres estudios de caso discutiré los vínculos entre el “oficio” de los niños guía y el imaginario patrimonial infantil, la organización social y la economía doméstica, con el objetivo de examinar el lugar de los niños en la patrimonialización y sus aportes en materia de políticas de desarrollo cultural.

    Despite their strong presence, the children-guides in Mexico remain invisible in literature on heritage. Heritage is a concept thought by adults for the benefit of the future generations without explicit reference to children. What does heritage consists of for the children-guides? How do they appropriate heritage? How do they live and transmit it, among them and towards the adults? Starting from three case studies, I shall discuss the links between the “jobs” of children-guides and the child heritage imaginary, the social organization and the domestic economy, in order to examine the place of children in heritagization and their contributions as for cultural development policies.
