Los estudios rurales se refirieron históricamente a lo productivo, y actualmente, se pretende avanzar sobre la visibilización de otras dimensiones. Esto representó (y representa) un esfuerzo epistemológico y conceptual de académicos y comunidades para repensarse en el mundo.
El objetivo de este artículo es presentar un modelo teórico para el estudio de la relación existente entre la configuración del hábitat rural y las condiciones de vida. Este esquema permite dar un paso en el conocimiento sosteniendo un abordaje relacional entre ambas dimensiones, ya que no se encontraron trabajos previos que la consideraran.

Rural studies refer historically to the productive, and nowadays, there is a pretension to advance on the visibility of other dimensions. This represented (and still represents) an epistemological and conceptual effort from academics and communities to rethink themselves in the world.
The goal of this article is to present a theoretical model for the study of the relationship between the configuration of rural habitat and living conditions. This scheme allows to take a step forward in knowledge by maintaining a relational approach between the two dimensions, since no previous work regarding this matter has been found.
