    La anexión rusa de Crimea y su intervención militar en Ucrania han terminado de deteriorar las relaciones entre Moscú y las capitales occidentales, generan-do un nuevo contexto geoestratégico con perfiles de Guerra Fría. En respuesta, el presidente Putin ha desarrollado una decidida estrategia frente a EE. UU. y la UE con un importante vector energético que busca el fortalecimiento de la posición de la Federación Rusa como potencia mundial. Con el giro a Asia, tanto por China como por Oriente Medio, el Kremlin está buscando reducir su depen-dencia energética y política de la UE. Con ello Rusia ha ganado además un gran protagonismo en la reconfiguración de la geopolítica global de la energía en una simbiosis donde la dimensión energética y la puramente estratégica se confun-den cada vez más.

    The Russian annexation of Crimea and its military intervention in Ukraine have fin-ished deteriorating relations between Moscow and the Western capitals, generating a new cold war geostrategic context. As a response, president Putin has developed an assertive strategy against the US and the EU with a very important energy com-ponent that seeks to strengthen the position of the Russian Federation as a world power. With the pivot to Asia, both to China and to the Middle East, the Kremlin is seeking to reduce its energy and political dependence on the EU, gaining a major role in the reconfiguration of the global energy geopolitics as well in a symbiosis where the energy and the purely strategic dimensions are increasingly confused.
