La inserción social de los portugueses en la sociedad salmantina del siglo XVIII a través del matrimonio

    El matrimonio, una de las principales vías de isnserción social, puede variar en función de factores como la procedencia de los cónyuges. A través del análisis de los registros parroquiales es posible conocer el origen de los contrayentes y de sus padres, lo que nos permite trazar la evolución de la llegada de portugueses a Salamanca durante el siglo XVIII y sus pautas de reproducción social, así como conocer las áreas de Portugal sobre las que la ciudad castellana generaba una mayor atracción. Consultar los documentos de diferentes parroquias salmantinas, además, nos ayuda a delimitar los espacios urbanos en que los portugueses preferían asentarse y aquellos en los que apenas estaban presentes, lo que nos aproxima a su espacio vital y a su entorno cotidiano.

    Marriage is one of the main ways of social inclusion, but it can change depending on some factors like the spouses origin. Through the analysis of parish registers we can approach to the origin of the newlyweds and their parents, and also to the evolution of the arrivals or Portuguese people to Salamanca along the XVIII century and their social reproduction patterns. What's more, we may know in wich areas of Portugal the attraction of the Castilian city was stronger. By cheking the documents of the different parishes of Salamanca, we'll define the urban areas where the Portuguese preferred to settle down and those where their presence was testimonial, wich will bring us closer to their living space, and their daily environment
