    Entre el 29 y el 31 de mayo de 2019 ha tenido lugar en la Universidad Comillas un Congreso sobre los retos del transhumanismo a la sociedad del futuro. Por otra parte, en agosto de 2019 se anunció la cuarta entrega de la película The Matrix (titulada Matrix en español), una película de ciencia ficción escrita y dirigida por las hermanas Wachowski cuyo trasfondo es el transhumanismo. La primera entrega de Matrix, estrenada en los Estados Unidos en 1999, hace 20 años, no ha perdido viveza y sigue siendo objeto de debate. Si bien Matrix se ha vuelto hoy una serie de películas de culto, en su argumento se establecen paralelismos con conceptos culturales (videojuegos), religiosos (judeocristianos), filosóficos (budismo y posmodernidad) e ideológicos (Baudrillard). Presentamos aquí algunas claves para una lectura teológica judeocristiana de la misma.

    Between 29 and 31 May 2019, a conference on the challenges of transhumanism to the society of the future was held at Comillas University, Madrid. In August 2019 the fourth installment of the film The Matrix, a science fiction film written and directed by the Wachowski sisters whose background is transhumanism, was announced. The first instalment of The Matrix, released in the United States in 1999, 20 years ago, has not lost its liveliness and continues to be the subject of debate. Although Matrix has now become a series of cult films, its plot draws parallels with cultural (video games), religious (Judeo-Christian), philosophical (Buddhism and post-modernity) and ideological (Baudrillard) concepts. Here we present some keys for a Judeo- Christian theological reading of it.
