In this brief article, I bring personal reflections on the teachings, importance, and meaning of a set of theoretical and methodological proposals of the Epistemologies of the South. Using a "free" writing style, I begin by describing the world (territory) from which I read and understand the Epistemologies of the South, the motivations for the composition of a song called "Linha abissal" and the reasons why I consider pertinent the promotion and adoption of an epistemic rationality that defies "indolent reasoning", as Boaventura de Sousa Santos eloquently writes about, to whom I also pay tribute through this piece.
