Beneficios de la aplicación de la metodología de Aprendizaje-Servicio. Una experiencia en Bachillerato

    La sociedad se encuentra marcada por una crisis generalizada y ha de afrontar el reto basado en el compromiso de educar para construir un mundo mejor. Para ello, se requieren metodologías acordes que propicien la reflexión sobre lo que se hace, cómo se hace y qué resultados se alcanzan. La metodología de Aprendizaje-Servicio tiene por finalidad formar personas competentes capaces de transformar la sociedad en la que viven. Así pues, el presente estudio muestra sus potencialidades, así como los beneficios que ésta produce en el alumnado de primer curso de Bachillerato de un colegio concertado de Valencia.

    Para ello, la investigación utiliza un diseño mixto y, como instrumentos de medida, los cuestionarios RApS I y RApS II, de elaboración propia; LAEA de Maite Garaigordobil; y, por último, AECS de Moraleda, González Galán y García-Gargallo. Todos ellos aplicados a la muestra de la investigación, N90.

    Se han obtenido resultados relevantes por lo que respecta al autoconcepto, intereses sociales, satisfacción del servicio y rendimiento académico, así como diferencias significativas entre chicos y chicas. Elaborándose conclusiones acordes a los resultados obtenidos y a las limitaciones que han podido influir en éstos.

    Our society is suffering a widespread crisis and must face the challenge of educating for the construction of a better world. To achieve that, appropriate methodologies are needed in order to promote reflection about what is done, how it is done and which results are reached. The purpose of Service-Learning methodology is to educate competent individuals who are able to transform their society. Therefore, this study shows the potentialities and benefits of this methodology among the students of 1st of “Bachillerato” (Secondary Education) in a semi-private school in Valencia.

    For that purpose, this research applies a mixed method design. The measuring instruments used are the RapS I and RapS II questionnaires, of own elaboration; LAEA, of Maite Garaigordobil; and AECS, of Moraleda, González Galán and García-Gargallo. All of them have been applied to the sample of our research, N90.

    Relevant results have been reached in terms of self-concept, social interests, service satisfaction and academic performance, as well as significant differences between boys and girls. Conclusions have been elaborated according to the results obtained and the limitations that could have influenced them.
