Resumen de Cultura geográfica, colonialidade e economia-mundo: o centro da América do Sul nos ‘mapas sertanistas’ (primeira metade do século XVIII)
This article discusses the relationship between map production and the spatial dimension of historical experience in the Modern Era. The article aims, therefore, to present a new interpretation of the maps’ ‘sertanistas’ and ‘bandeirantes’, their links with the production of geographical knowledge (at different levels) and their connections with the colonial spatialities. More than a specific study about a set of maps, the article seeks to reveal elements that characterize the relation between spatial representations and the conquest of space in a context marked by the coloniality and the continentality of the European conquests in America
