    This paper aims to bring an interpretative analysis of this vignette on the frontispiece of the first editions of the Revue des Deux Mondes, an important French newspaper of the nineteenth century. Through analysis of this image, we can noticing how a simple figure holds a series of representations concerning the own practices of the nineteenth century, showing the tone that mark the context of production of own French magazine, besides relations of power practiced between the countries of the time .

    O presente trabalho tem como objetivo trazer uma análise interpretativa da vinheta presente no frontispício das primeiras edições da Revue des Deux Mondes, um dos mais destacados periódicos franceses do século XIX. Através da análise dessa imagem, poderemos notar como uma figura pode guardar uma série de representações que dizem respeito às práticas próprias do século XIX, evidenciando a tônica que marcaria o contexto de produção da própria revista francesa, além das relações de poder praticadas entre os países da época
