    En este estudio examino la reescritura del mito de Filoctetes en “An Arrow 's Flight”, del escritor estadounidense Mark Merlis. En primer lugar, analizo el plano hipertextual y la estructura de la novela. y después los procesos de desmitificación, subversión y remitificación. La parte final del estudio se centra en los límites de la subversión llevada a cabo, tal como se pueden deducir por el uso del sexo y de la sexualidad.

    In this paper I examine the rewriting of the myth of Philoctetes in “An Arrow's Flight” by US writer Mark Merlis. First, I analyze the hypertextual status and the structure of the novel, and then the processes of demythification, subversion and re-mythification. The final part of the paper focuses on the limits of this subversion, as thcy can be inferred by the use of sex and sexuality.
