    Se estudia en este artículo la utilización innovadora de distintos mitos grecolatinos que Javier Tomeo propone en sus textos y, más específicamente, en las novelas “La agonía de Proserpina” (1993) y “La máquina voladora” (1996). Se analizan primero las referencias al mito corno una manifestación entre otras de la técnica de la "repetición desviada”, antes de insistir en los fenómenos subversivos de desacralización, transcontextualización y resemantización de los relatos antiguos. A lo largo de las lecturas, se presta atención a las dimensiones esencialmente filosóficas de la prosa tomeana. Asimismo, se pone de relieve la importancia concedida a las nociones de libre albedrío y destino en las obras elegidas

    This article examines the innovative use of various ancient myths in Javier Tomeo's texts, specifically in the novels “La agonía de Proserpina” (1993) and “La máquina voladora” (1996). At the beginning of the analysis the references to myths will be considered as an expression-amongst others- of the technique of "diverted repetition''. Thereafter, the focus will shift to the subversive phenomena of dlcsecration, trans-contextualization and resemantization of thc ancient stories, which are told in a prose that incites, first of ali, a philosophical reílection. Finally, we will highlight the significance of the notions of free will and fate in the works under discussion.
