El autor, luego de hacer una revisión de los antecedentes de la agresión israelí al Líbano del año 2006, se refiere a la causa inmediata, al ensañamiento observado y al triste balance. Estudia las reacciones de la comunidad internacional, incluyendo la actuación tardía de la ONU, y concluye que nos encontramos frente a un nuevo escenario geopolítico que no responde precisamente al llamado “Choque de Civilizaciones”. Finalmente, habla de las consecuencias jurídicas, señalando que se aspira a que éste, el primero, y ojalá el último genocidio del siglo XXI, no quede impune.

After reviewing the background of the 2006 Israeli aggression to Lebanon, the author refers to its immediate cause, its brutal cruelty and its sad balance. He studies the reactions of the international community, including the late reaction of the UN, and concludes that we face a new geopolitical scene not responding to the so-called “Clash of Civilizations”. Finally, he reviews its legal consequences, noting that this genocide, the first and hopefully the last of the XXI century, must not remain unpunished.
