    La Guerra Civil española fue uno de los acontecimientos más importantes del siglo XX. en la zona republicana nace un tipo de prensa destinada a los soldados del frente. estos boletines y diarios permitieron a muchos artistas o aspirantes a serlo, a desarrollar su talento creativo. es el caso del pintor José Arencibia Gil en el periódico Avance. durante la guerra dibuja más de un centenar de composiciones, escribe múltiples y poemas en defensa de la causa republicana. estas ilustraciones son testimonios gráficos para comprender mejor aquella etapa de la historia de España

    The Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) was one of the key events of the 20th century. In the Republican zone a type of press emerged aimed at soldiers at the front. These bulletins and newspepars allowed many established and aspiring artists to develop their creative talents. One example is the painter José Arencibia Gil in the newspaper Avance. During the war the artist drew more than one hundred compositions and wrote numerous articles and poems in defense of the Republican cause. His illustrations offer graphics testimonies for a better understanting of this period of Spanish history
