  There are technical reasons for the health insurance deficit (medical progress, aging of the population, medical demography). It is however mainly due to a certain inability to reduce it through a greater flexibility of health services and benefits. There are also technical reasons for the old age pension program deficit (retiring baby boomers and stagnation of the working-age population). But it is mainly due to a lack of anticipation of such expected phenomena. By accepting a system of welfare on credit, we hinder economic competition and threaten social cohesion.

  Le déficit de l’assurance maladie a des causes techniques (progrès médical, vieillissement de la population, démographie médicale), mais tient surtout à une certaine incapacité à les absorber par une flexibilité du système de soins et de prestations. Le déficit des systèmes de retraite publics a également des causes techniques (papy boom face à une population active stagnante), mais tient surtout à une carence dans l’anticipation de ces événements prévisibles.

  En nous accommodant d’une protection sociale à crédit, nous obérons la compétitivité économique, et menaçons la cohésion sociale.
