    La familia constituye el ámbito social fundamental de la organización del cuidado de la niñez y la adolescencia; aunque las nociones y los roles sobre el cuidado se han transformado de manera lenta, existen cambios importantes en la organización social del cuidado. Para la investigación, se definió el enfoque cualitativo, aplicando la técnica de entrevistas a profundidad a 47 cuidadores, 12 hombres y 35 mujeres, de la ciudad de Bucaramanga (Colombia). Se resaltan las diferencias en el cuidado en relación con cambios, significados, sentimientos y conflictos según sexo y posición social. Se concluye el mantenimiento estructural del cuidado en la familia y los roles asignados, con mayor carga de funciones para la mujer y el mayor involucramiento de los hombres en las funciones del cuidado de la niñez y la adolescencia.

    The family constitutes the fundamental social sphere of the organization of the care of children and adolescents; although the notions and roles on care have slowly transformed, there are important changes in the social organization of care. For the research, the qualitative approach was chosen, applying the technique of in-depth interviews to 47 caregivers, 12 men and 35 women, from the city of Bucaramanga (Colombia). Differences in care are highlighted in relation to changes, meanings, feelings and conflicts according to sex and social position. The structural preservation in family care and assigned roles is concluded, with a greater burden of duties for women and the greater involvement of men in the duties in child and adolescent care.
