    En la actualidad la idea de la fotografía como prueba histórica, social y cultural ya no se pone en duda. En todos los países existen instituciones públicas y privadas que custodian y ponen a disposición de la sociedad el patrimonio fotográfico, aportando así un importante factor de conocimiento histórico. Desde el fin de la II Guerra Mundial, la sociedad se ha preocupado por cuidar, proteger y conservar el patrimonio, los conflictos convierten en escombros cualquier elemento de valor cultural. Así, el patrimonio fotográfico se ha convertido en una prueba visual del pasado y presente.

    La digitalización y conservación del patrimonio cultural europeo se ha convertido en un gran reto mundial. A través de Internet, se ha conseguido cambiar la forma en la que los ciudadanos se pueden acercar a la historia visual. La presente investigación expondrá cómo actualmente las localidades se han unido al boom de los archivos fotográficos y se centrará en cómo la fotografía se ha convertido en testimonio de historia, a nivel local, analizando las aportaciones de Julio Sánchez Millán y global, con Jalón Ángel. Por último, se expondrá una visión general de cómo los fotógrafos documentales actuales se están convirtiendo en portadores de pruebas de los conflictos para las generaciones futuras.

    Nowadays, there’s no doubt that Photography is an historic, social and cultural proof. There are public and private institutions in all countries which protect and make available the photographic heritage to the society, thus contributing to an important historical knowledge. Since the end of the World War II, society has been worried about the care, protection and preservation of the heritage. Wars turns any cultural element into rubble. So, the photographic heritage has become a visual proof of the past and the present like no other vestige.

    The digitalization and conservation of European cultural heritage has become a big global challenge. Internet has changed the way in which citizens can see and access to the visual history. This research will expose how the cities around the world are joined the boom of the photographic archives. Also, it will focus on how photography has become a proof of the history, at local level, with the contributions of Julio Sánchez Millan(President of one of the older Royal Photographic Society in Spain), and a global level, with Jalón Ángel (one of the most famous photographer in the XX Century). Finally, this article exposes a general vision of how current photojournalist are becoming a proof that show the consequences of the war to the future generations.
