La propia literatura de Vila-Matas resulta atractiva para los artistas plásticos hasta el punto de sentir un gran interés por sus novelas y por conocerle, como sucedió con Sophie Calle y en el caso de Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, con quien acabó surgiendo una amistad y admiración mutua donde los encuentros suman para sus propios proyectos. Así que en la propia obra de Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster y de Enrique Vila-Matas se puede observar similitudes como la de situarse en un lugar intermedio entre el límite de la literatura, el arte y la vida, la creación de entornos relacionados con los límites y la ambigüedad, el paseo, la literatura portátil y las citas. Esta relación de amistad ha provocado muchas idas y venidas desde el campo de la instalación artística, performativa y la literaria. Intentamos observar las similitudes entre la obra de ambos que nos darán la clave de ese ir y venir del arte a la literatura, de la ficción y la realidad, de lo que está y no está. A través de hablar de los cronotopos del límite y el umbral en la frontera, el camino en el paseo, el encuentro en la cita.

The Vila-Matas’ literature is very interesting for the artists and he is very interested in art. For example the artist Sophie Calle was interesed to met him and this relationship is the base of Exploradores del abismo (2007), or Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster appeard a great friendship until they add in their works. Our purpose is to see the similitude between the works of Vila-Matas and Gonzalez-Foerster like to stay in the border to literature and art, reality and fiction or of what is and is not. Both use the exhibition for example themselves exhibition or the envairoments and the limits in the time, the promenade, the portable literature, or the quote. We use the chronotopes for analyzing and organizing their works like the limit for to speak about the border, the road for the promenade and the met for the date.
